History Maker: CJ Greaves Takes 200th Short-Course Off-Road Racing Career Win

August 10, 2025 (Bark River, MI)–CJ Greaves etched yet another page in the off-road racing history book by taking his 200th win this past weekend at The Rumble in the U.P. in Bark River, Michigan. The win alluded him in Dirt City so it was with great anticipation that he would achieve that milestone in Bark River. Mother Nature put a delay in the timing though as thunderstorms rolled through the midwest on Saturday which postponed the racing. Sunday’s doubleheader meant the team would cram 6 races into the day. Recovering from his ERX injuries, Johnny Greaves, took a spin in his familiar number 22 Monster Energy Toyota and felt he could handle the racing. He felt great and saddled up to take on the Bark River dirt.

Morning Race: Track crews were up early Sunday morning to prepare the rain soaked track for racing which would start at 8AM for the pro classes. CJ Greaves rolled off first in his Polaris RZR and was mired in traffic most of the first half of the race. However, he found himself in 5th ahead of the competition caution when Cross Kirshmier pulled off with mechanical issues.

On the restart, CJ grabbed 4th from Jake Kosmecki. Truett and Bootle were battling for 2nd place while Owen VanEperen pulled away to a big lead. Just before the white flag flew, Truett’s motor gave up and he pulled off the track, handing CJ the 3rd spot on the podium.

Afternoon Race: The two Polaris’ of CJ and Collin Truett started on the front row for the afternoon side-by-side race. CJ, still searching for a weekend win, led the 17 car field to turn one. Owen VanEperen passed Bootle and Truett to challenge CJ for the lead. He was able to pass CJ in “Cemetery Turn” but Greaves was able to muscle his way back to the lead. The two put on a clinic up to the competition caution.

CJ led the single file field down the hill towards turn one as the 2nd half of the race got underway. Truett and VanEperen were fighting for the 2nd spot which gave CJ a little breathing room. Third place back to 5th were dicing it up leaving CJ and Owen to duke it out to the checkered flag. With only a couple laps remaining, it looked like Owen might play the spoiler for CJ’s win. But CJ was strong and made no mistakes, hitting his lines perfect to take win number 200!

The series presented CJ with a nice plaque to commemorate this great milestone in off-road racing history.

Morning Race: After the Pro-4 sweep in Dirt City, anticipation was high that CJ would hit win number 200. He was the top qualifier and Johnny G was back in the saddle too. The racing was hot and furious by the time the 9 truck field hit turn one. CJ was trying to stay out of trouble in the first half of the race. Others were banging fenders and getting wild. CJ barely missed Thomas and Mamer who got tangled up in the middle of the track. The shakeup landed CJ in 3rd behind “the wild man” Adrian Cenni. As CJ was going through the turn with Cenni, he hit the edge of the berm causing him to flip over on his side bringing out a full course caution. Track crews were able to flip him back onto all 4’s. He refired his Toyota and took off to join the rear of the field.

On the restart, it was apparent that CJ had significant damage to the front suspension. He pull off the track to begin the long day of repairs for the afternoon race.

Johnny Greaves found himself in the top 5 after Cole Mamer pulled of the track. Johnny also tangled with the berm but was able to save it before he rolled or lost any positions. He finished the race 5th.

Afternoon Race: CJ and Johnny started the afternoon Pro-4 race in the rear on the field. As the track deteriorated, trucks began to have flats, rolls, and other issues that depleted the field. Adrian Cenni was the first to have trouble with a flat tire. The track claimed Paul Wolff next with a multi-roll crash sending fiberglass everywhere and bringing out a full course caution. In spite of the damage, he was able to continue in the race after the track crews righted him. Cenni was able to take advantage and got a tire change during the caution. When racing continued, the Monster Energy / Toyo Tire / Toyota of CJ Greaves was in 3rd and Johnny not far behind in 6th leading up to the competition caution.

On the restart, the Greaves Duo began their charge to the front. CJ muscled past Mamer to take 2nd and begin his attack on the leader, Jimmy Henderson. The two went side-by-side before CJ pushed his way to the lead. Jimmy almost landed on CJ as they jumped over the finish line tabletop. Henderson suffered some race ending damage in the process and pulled off the track leaving CJ all alone in the lead. Johnny was also making some moves. He passed Mamer to set-up a classic Greaves 1-2 finish. CJ took win number 201 and the Greaves Duo celebrated on the podium.
