CJ Takes 2nd in the Crandon Cup but Suffers Bad luck In Other Races

Sept 1, 2025 (Crandon, WI)–The 56th Polaris Crandon World Championships and round 13 took place on Memorial Day weekend at the famed Crandon International Raceway in front of a massive crowd of more than 60k. In a very rare occurrence, CJ did not podium in any of the races with the exception of the Cup race. CJ came in 2nd in the Pro2 vs Pro4 Crandon Cup race and Johnny came in 4th just off the podium.

Pro Stock SXS

Saturday: CJ Greaves started on the pole of the 20 car field with several first timers on the grid. CJ’s Monster Energy Polaris RZR took the holeshot but Owen VanEperen quickly grabbed the lead. CJ was in 2nd when the first bad luck struck the defending champ. Landing hard off of one of the jumps, he broke his left rear suspension, ending his day.

Sunday: CJ did not race in the Pro Stock SXS race on Sunday.

Pro SXS

CJ Greaves Monster Energy Polaris SXS

Saturday: CJ’s bad luck continued when he exited the Pro SXS race early after being taken out as the field hit turn one.

Sunday: CJ’s machine overheated in Sunday’s race, knocking him out of contention.

Pro 4:

Johnny Greaves Monster Energy Toyota

Saturday: 10 Pro-4 trucks were on the line for Saturday’s landrush start. CJ and Johnny Greaves were in the middle of the line and got a great start–beating everybody through turn one with CJ in the lead. CJ built a comfortable lead while Johnny was having his battle with Cole Mamer “The Wild Man”, Adrian Cenni, rolled over and landed on his roof bringing out a full course caution.

On the restart, CJ was still in the lead followed by Mamer, Johnny, and Chaney. Following the competition caution, CJ caught a rut in the gravel pit turn, rolleing his machine and landing on its side. Meanwhile, Johnny grabbed the lead but Jimmy Henderson was in hot pursuit. Johnny tagged the k-rail at the start/finish line which handed the lead over the Henderson and pushing Johnny back to 3rd. With one lap to go, Johnny took 2nd to claim the runner-up spot on the podium.

Sunday: Sunday’s Pro-4 races took place in the morning. CJ lost an axle in the first corner Johnny ended up 5th with some contact with other racers.

Crandon Cup Race

CJ Greaves number 33 Monster Energy Toyota

The Pro2 vs Pro4, Crandon Cup race was very exciting with CJ and Johnny both in contention at the end. The Pro-4’s passed all the Pro-2’s and it was between CJ and RJ Anderson. Anderson and CJ split a lapper in the middle of them and raced to the finish line with Anderson prevailing to take the win followed by CJ in 2nd. Johnny finished in fourth, just off the podium.
