Tunica, Miss. (March 6, 2017) —
The Duo of Johnny and CJ Greaves took their Pro Stock Yamaha UTV programs to the land of the Mississippi delta blues and riverboat gambling for the inaugural Delta Motocross Park UTV Races in Tunica, Mississippi. CJ entered his Yamaha in the 1000 production class while Johnny entered the Turbo 1000 class. Both CJ and Johnny won their heat races as well as their semi’s, which transferred them into their main events.
CJ took his Monster Energy sponsored, custom built Yamaha YXZ1000R to the line in the Production 1000 main event. He took the holeshot and never looked back, leading the entire race. Fellow YXZ racers, Ken Masch and Rodney Vaneperin, were also strong and helped pull off a 1-2-3 sweep for the Yamaha’s. CJ took the win, followed by Masch in 2nd, and Vaneperin in 3rd.
CJ collected the $10k purse and promptly donated some of his winning to the 3rd-5th place finishers.
Johnny and Kyle Hart hit turn 1 racing hard in the Turbo 1000 class. Hart would take the lead when Johnny made contact with the Marty Hart, knocking him back 6 car lengths. Johnny battled back and nearly caught Kyle but had to settle for a strong 2nd.
The team heads back to Wisconsin to continue to get ready for the start of the upcoming TORC season. CJ will run a full Pro Stock UTV schedule as well as his attempt to defend his Pro-2 and Pro-4 championships. These pre-season races have been a great opportunity to dial in his YXZ’s setup, instilling a lot of confidence in the team heading into the 2017 season.
